WBAI Treas Report 12-13-2017

So much neglect of duties, so many lies, so many clashing motives, so many scams, so much hypocrisy, so little regard for the listeners, so much finger-pointing, so much masturbatory action, no love among the ruins, no moral responsibility, no vision, no leadership...

No audience, no money, no sympathy, no Pacifica voice in New York.

WBAI Treasurer's Report - December 2017

  1. The question now is: How long will the ESRT wait before enforcing its judgment. Clearly, Pacifica is too dysfunctional to do what is necessary to gather enough cash to pay it off.

  2. Two examples, each quite different, each capable in different ways, come readily to mind…

Summer Reese was sharply focused on putting their financial and organizational house in order – she lasted only a few months before being forced out.

John Proffitt was sharply focused on putting their financial and organizational house in order – he lasted five months before acknowledging the sad, cruel reality that they were hopelessly dysfunctional, and moving on.

Their more recent, Bill Crosier was turned to in absolute desperation and accordingly given some small authority, yet still clearly and sharply limited by their eternal infernal struggles.

Leaving them as ever drifting in their anger and their bitterness, the ‘mission’ to which they cling as their claim to legitimacy.

It’s simply a rotten, profoundly dysfunctional organization, firmly opposed to any form of actual adaptation or change, surviving solely on the basis of effectively inherited assets as those assets decline and debts mount ever higher, a pointless exercise for anyone but the various petty players.

An organization is its people, and these people, this organization are incapable of saving themselves or of being saved – they have been for decades.

In that, if nothing else, they are consistent.

  3. Chris,

There were three problems with Summer Reese.

    1. Reese claimed not to have a social security number. The last thing that Pacifica needs is a tax protester.

    2. I wrote to her concerning the accounting irregularities of the alleged Steve Brown ($30,000 Once $60,000), which was never recorded in the financial statements of WBAI

    3. She was a friend of Carolyn Birden, who is severely ignorant of financial matters.

    4. She refused to investigate the illegal hiring of Andrea Katz.

    Thank you.

  4. Kathy Davis is hawking a new conspiracy theory premium. It's crap, but at least it's new crap.

    1. I heard her read (though not too well) an endless list of something that made no sense. This woman is a total, embarrassing sell-out.

  5. The Yellow Magnet contract was for $50,000? Holy crap! You know something odd was going on with that contract signing. Someone was watching out for their friends.

I'm not surprised by a lower fulfillment rate on the Null retreat, once people realize they have to pay additional fees to get themselves there. You'd think they'd check travel costs before donating for it.

"The General Manager said that the fulfillment rate is only 75% so far, but he will try to increase that." So, 25% of people don't send in their donation. That's a high percentage.

"The General Manager forwarded my query to the interim Development Director, who sent me what can only be described as a belligerent reply." HAHAHAHA! I wonder what it said. Maybe we now know Katz's job - sending "belligerent" replies to people...

    1. Katz may have bumped her head when she fled the runway.

I think the Yellow Magnets was a Bates scheme.

Berthold Reimers is rumored to have said that the $500 per person party "went well." How well? That's anybody's guess—an easy one, I would think.

    2. It went well because someone showed up, probably.

    3. Yes, Kathy was there, but there was a LSB meeting simultaneously—these people are so great when it comes to planning.

Wait 'til you hear the admonition given by the CA Attorney General's office to the PNB Board this evening. It will be posted.

  6. I also noticed Prescod was hawking something about monsanto.
Could it be someone grew a brain, and realized that the black all the time plan
    isn't cutting it? Nah ...
I also noticed that this show that is on now , Tall tales from the big city is never preempted
doesn't hawk anything and never even mentions there is a drive going on . Plus the show sucks.
Shouldn't they be pushing some african pack or something in her place .
Or give her the Bai default crap for her to push? Doesn't make sense to me , but then again this is bai.
This girl is a "comedian" , you would think she would have some tickets to some show or something
along those lines to hawk. go figure .

    1. It could have been an interesting show, especially in NYC, but it is amazingly uninteresting. Well, perhaps not so amazingly.

    2. If I were to put a show on the air about NYC, I'd offer it to Jeremiah Moss, who does the fantastic, if sad, Jeremiah's Vanishing New York blog, and has a recent book published on the same topic.

      His blog is at: http://vanishingnewyork.blogspot.com/

  7. I think Bates brought her on air, so that explains the sucky part and
maybe even the the non participation in any drive part.
Could it be she is doing some "favors" for Bates? haha
The only other show that is mia is democracy now , but they are owed money
    so they got some leverage.
