Breaking the silence?

TRANSMITTER FIX UPDATE
LATEST UPDATE: It's spewing again!
The following was just received from an anonymous source:

Transmitter update 12/21 PM

Someone has been reading the regs at the FCC website. Please see below. A transmitter update from Tony Ryan. In part. . .

"The Circuit Board has been delivered!

Jake Glanz is working on the installation(as we speak), hopefully we will be UP(few hours) soon if all tests go well.

NO ETA yet...

I spoke to Berthold yesterday about filing a STA(Special Temporary Authority) FORM.

We have been down(six days) since Saturday(12-16-17) so we still have several
more days for concern.

"When a broadcast station(WBAI) cannot operate in accordance with its license due to equipment failure, damage to licensed transmission systems, or other causes, the station may request an STA. Section 73.1635 of the rules governs STA operation; other related rule parts are 73.1680 (emergency antennas); 73.1560 (reduced power); 73.62 (AM directional antennas) 73.1740 (reduced hours). "

Included in this email are the FCC GUIDELINES regarding the "SILENT STATION"(downtime) requirements.

https://www.fcc.gov/media/radio/special-temporary-authority

Berthold will request the Pacifica attorney to prepare a letter of intent to
the FCC in case this goes past the required filing time..."

Will the FCC give them slack? Time will tell.

  1. Mute, since they are back on.

I think it's more important to deal with the Sharon brown matter that Benito keeps bringing up week after week before dealing with anything else, like the ESRT, etc.

  2. The PNB meeting was such a joke. The existence of the foundation is in question and they're interviewing candidates for affiliate directors. Rather than acknowledge the absurdity of it,
they just go through the motions. The only word to describe it is surreal.

    1. Exactly! Their priorities are totally out of whack, I thought I had brought up an old meeting..

    2. Hmm, Let's see, if we move the deck chairs to the starboard side, we might get a better view of the northern lights. Did you feel something?

  3. In 1917, WWI was raging in Europe, ending the following year. BTW, from all I hear, Brooklyn is turning white again.

Don't worry, Byrd and his race-entrapped guests will soon have to look around for another radio station. For that, they have nobody to blame but. themselves—that have destroyed WBAI with their scams and nano mindsets.

Probably not the best analogy here .
    But , too late.

  5. Chris,

Read the following bullshit from Marilyn Vogt-Downey:

This traditional rule of thumb, this principal, applies far beyond the functioning of the Pacifica National Board: Every movement, protest, and meeting (even community!) has a right and a duty to organize defense squads/marshals, accountable to the group/community, to prevent provocateurs and disruptors (and, of course, armed goons and cops) from harming our actions or ourselves. This right to self defense is indispensable for effective meetings, street actions, press conferences, etc. by any working-class organization from those of a union to a listener-sponsored radio decision-making council such as Pacifica's PNB.

    This woman is an asshole.

Mitchel Cohen and Berthold Reimers hired some asshole to intimidate me at a meeting. It cost $250 and did not work.

Jim Dingeman told me that he would throw me out of a window. I told him he couldn't

Alex Steinberg and the moron, who is Vice Chairman, attempted to stare me down. Like they could frighten me.

I have been threatened by the Italian Mafia and the Russian Mafiya- and I am still alive.

What a bunch of A--holes as was stated in the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Dingeman told me that there were killers at WBAI. Really!!

    What bullshit.

Always the bullshit about violence from a bunch of fuck-ups.

    Thank you.

    1. The irony is that the Pacifica Board could, if it had wanted to, expel, eject and exclude any Board member that was disruptive, pursuant to Article 5, Section 7 of the Pacifica Bylaws and Article 13, sections 72 and 73 of Robert's Rules of Order. However, they never had the guts to do so, and now, Pacifica is circling the drain
