Exit Strategy at Pacifica office...

It ain't easy being a Pacifica Foundation office worker these day, what with Board members trying to block you from leaving the building. It requires a well thought-out exit strategy, but—as an old Danish saying goes—"the naked woman soon learns how to weave." With coincidental appropriateness, they had it pretty much down pat at Pacifica headquarters on this St. Patrick's Day. We are told that nobody was hurt in the filming of this episode.

  1. Perhaps they're rehearsing for the day when they jump the sinking ship...

  2. "Come over, red rover...". Both sides are insane.

  3. There was no barricade, what the fuck are you people talking about? They clearly walked right out.

    1. Me. Reese said that there was "a barricade of board members." Neither you nor I know what might have occurred if the door had been opened wide, several times, or not been manned from the inside.

  4. Nice spin, but the office occupiers were trying to keep the Pacifica board members from getting inside, not blocking staff from leaving. Under California law, directors of boards have the absolute right to inspect premises and make copies of records as part of their fiduciary responsibilities. Reese is refusing to allow them entrance or access, which means that she can destroy or alter records with no oversight. She claims to be an attorney; why hasn't she filed in the courts yet?

    1. Not at all a "spin," just a more balanced deduction—at least that's what I meant it to be..

    2. You are both factually and strategically/factually in error:

      1. Reese has never claimed to be an attorney – she has stated that she has worked as a paralegal.

      2. The question is not why Reese hasn’t gone to court – the question is why the board hasn’t gone to court, to get an order requiring they be admitted, and presented that order, either with or without police. Why is that, do you think?

The onus for taking the initiative in this instance is on the board, since Reese is the person in postion, and they seek entrance. One presumes, in absence of inside information, that Reese would be happy for them to go to court seeking such an order because she may then challenge in court their claim to validity and authority – which is her stated position.

To date she holds both tactical and strategic advantage.

We shall see what happens next, with interest.
