WBAI wants a settlement and a massive rent reduction, and they've already signaled their intention to leave altogether with their application to the FCC for a move to 4 Times Square.
DeleteWhy should ESRT be interested in any of that? From a business standpoint, wouldn't ESRT's most logical move be to pursue payment of the full amount through the courts, and hope it forces the sale of WBAI so they can keep 99.5 at their master antenna facility under new ownership which would pay the market rate on time with no issues?

We demand the release from the unconscionable contract, forgiveness of this outrageous debt..Can you hear me? Am I being muted..again?..a new transmitter, soundproofing material for our studio, new microphones, training for our staff and support for MNN's LMA bid.
Cerene: Oh Please. Like we're really expected to pay these outrageous amounts after years of mismanagement by members of the other faction. The nerve of them to rush through an audit without even letting us talk to the auditors for the fifteenth time. ESRT should face reality and let us implement the LMA bid from MNN so we can be the one true voice of the community.

No surprise there, Hopper is awful and her show is impossible to justify, except from her personal use of it as a source of financial income—those boat rides, dances, etc. She is also a promotional tool for obscure record labels. If they ever do a real cleanup, there will hardly be anyone left at WBAI.
