Going for the JUCular...

This just in, submitted by an anonymous visitor who apparently attended tonight's meeting.

The Indy slate met tonight as the Delegates Assembly to elect PNB directors. They seated Kathy Davis and the thirteen members elected PNB directors.

They are apparently not going to contest Lynne Stewart, but are contesting Vajra. With Vajra, the two sides have twelve members each. With Kathy, it's 13-11 Indy.

That explains why they're [the JUVCs] are pushing to seat Vajra. The Indy slate will not attend the LSB special meeting Wednesday night. JUVC may try to elect their own directors. Now it finally makes sense. The folks at the meeting seemed to be preparing for litigation; they had someone record that meeting and voted by ballot even though the races were not competitive.

THEN CAME THIS:

The long-awaited follow-up to Gary Null's threatened lawsuit seems to have arrived at Pacifica's doorstep. It appears to be aimed at individuals who kept it to themselves until litigant Mitchel Cohen shared it with Pacifica director Steve M. Brown.

The following letter to femme terrible Lydia Brazon (copied to the PNB) was posted to the WBAI-LSB public list by Brown in the early morning hours of today. What is Brazon's game?

Lydia –
I have just seen an email from Mitchel Cohen in which he announces that he has been served with a lawsuit that names him and Pacifica, along with you and John Proffitt and Margy Wilkinson, and probably others. This lawsuit must have been known to you for some time. But you have not seen fit to notify the board of directors about it.
Before this suit was filed, you and the board got copies of the letters from Null’s attorney asking that you discuss Null’s allegations so that a lawsuit might be avoided. I must conclude, since he has now filed, that you never responded to his offer to discuss allegations of illegal behavior at Pacifica – allegations that I know from my own investigations to be true. It seems you preferred to provoke a lawsuit. Do you have any other explanation for your failure even to investigate the possibility of avoiding a lawsuit against the foundation, and why you continue to keep the board in the dark?
You appear to have served Pacifica badly, and treated the board with contempt.
Director, Pacifica National Board; Member, WBAI Local Station Board

  1. Fascinating. I wonder what Null's strategy is?

Whatever it is, it is surely to benefit Null's bottom line, to keep him on that 50kW outlet for as long as the power stays on...

  2. I've read this all three times and am not sure I understand it. Gary Null actually came through and sued? I'm no fan of Mitch Cohen, but why is he getting sued? From what I have seen, his nonsense is more about WBAI than Pacifica. Maybe WBAI people were served in the suit also? And now John Proffitt probably truly wishes he never took the ED job.

Of course, this is all presuming I read correctly and Null sued, whether Pacifica alone or Pacifica and WBAI. If Null didn't add Reimers and other WBAI management people, I would smell a fish.

    I'll await more news.

    1. As I recall, some of Mitch Cohen's many cover-up lies had to do with the premium scam. Perhaps that involved Null's stuff? I wonder if there will be counter suits?

    2. OK. Then that brings us back to WBAI management and if any of them were sued. Premium scams are WBAI's responsibility. What does Pacifica have to do with that, besides possible neglect?

Of course, this is presuming there even is any lawsuit. Let's remember that the source is Mitch Cohen, after all.

    3. Don't forget that Mitch showed the paper to Steve Brown, who pushed this development into the public arena. If anyone knows what Null is up to, it's his friend, Steve.

    4. I'm not saying there is no lawsuit. All I am really saying is let's not presume anything - ANYTHING - in the circus that is Pacifica, with the added attraction of Gary Null.

In reference to my recent post on RPM's BB: Just added to the card, a second main event - Gary Null vs Pacifica in a Smoke & Mirrors Organic Brawl!

  3. As someone from KPFK, I want to know: "What is Brazon's game?" She's running the place. Anyone?

  4. 1) Where is a PDF of the lawsuit? Since it is a public document, can we seeit? Is it up on the web somewhere now?
    2) Bernard White and Don Rojas were right and on legal terre firma to fire him a decade ago. The pond scum who brought him back are responsible for this.

His strategy is that he has no strategy. His strategy is to tie the bottom feeders who spend 24/7 agonizing over his non-existent strategy into one high-caloric, high carbohydrate, low roughage salty pretzel.

    1. Yes, with more to come until the well is empty. It will be interesting to see if Null's show comes on today. I think SDL has a good point when he suggests that Null can't sue and pitch at the same time.
