A death knell for WBAI?

Just as we sense a glimmer of hope in ED John Proffitt's visit to WBAI, there is this on the Thursday morning propaganda show! Yesterday, Reimers had Proffitt meet some of the station's producers. Linda Perry's "news" report conveniently excludes the questions asked, but it is said that Hank Kee had a good one. The rock was lifted and it appears to have revealed Proffitt and Reimers in warm—perhaps, staged—embrace.

Question: Is Mr. Proffitt playing the game or did we so completely misread him?

  1. Doubletalk. He did not say one thing about how he would accomplish this miracle.

  2. From your info (without any additional of my own), seems like Proffitt's probably just another hack from the Pacifica clown car, then. That's too bad.

    1. Yes, that's what it looks like and it is too bad, but the odds of him succeeding were mighty slim to begin with. Now WBAI is off the respirator and, as Brian E. Tiegert speculated, it may bring Pacifica down with it.

Frankly, I really thought Proffitt was out of this game.

    2. This audio is nothing but an edited puff piece. You can't expect Proffitt to come in and say, "I'm sorry I'm at this dump with all you idiots..." Obviously, this was tossed together, probably out of context, to make WBAI look good. The most telling thing is the insertion of Reimers doing ass kissing. It's just a propaganda done by WBAI (Linda Perry?) and can't be used to make any judgements.

    3. I fully agree with SDL. I suspect we’ll have a clear sense as to what may or may not be expected or hoped for from Proffitt and what may or may not be possible with respect to WBAI and Pacifica within at most three weeks or so. If there are no clear, sharp indicators within that rough time frame, then that itself is a major negative indicator.

  3. Maybe someone switched his drink and gave him Double Helix Water with some "stuff" in it.

Proffitt, Murillo, Philips: We had high hopes for these people. At least Philips didn't change his tune. On the other hand, he was run out of town.

    1. Agreed. This is probably the last straw. The Reimers, Murillo, bozos here and on the PNB have succeeded in abusing Pacifica to death. A very sad situation, but they deserve the total obscurity that's coming to them. That also goes for ass lickers like Lefever and Cohen.
