Reimers finally fired?

THIS RUMOR JUST RECEIVED at 11:15 PM
"I heard from a generally reliable source @ the station that Reimers has been fired...not confirmed because I do not have a second source, but the report I have is of his termination."  —Anonymous

Can anyone confirm?

  1. I hope it is true. If so, I wonder who fired him. Also, if true, that means Unofficial Minister of Propaganda, Mitch "Isuzu" Cohen, is looking for another ass to kiss/puppet to play.

    1. Poor Mitchel! His name also came to my mind as soon as I received this rumor.

  2. Nah Chris,Reimers was promoted to lead plaintiff in Berthold vs.Pacifica - Fired while Black by a White ED. Benefits include huge pay increase and no responsibility to ever show up at the office until you get hired by someone with no institutional memory later on. Rinse Repeat Lather.

    1. Sadly, not as far fetched as it sounds. White, anyone? B. White, that is. :(

    2. Reimers has throughout his tenure as General Manager refused to use Pacifica’s standardized network-wide longstanding choice of Great Plains accounting software despite having been repeatedly told that he must do so, and that to refuse to do so seriously compromises Pacifica’s ability to maintain financial control of its operations.

This alone is absolute and incontestable grounds for immediate termination.

    3. Absolutely, Indigo, and, we might add, it is but one among a multiple of valid reasons for dismissal of this incompetent "manager" who was hired on the basis of a falsified resume and has contributed nothing during his more than five years of collecting $100,000.00 per annum for himself.

  3. Killer audio on WBAI this morning! No, Chris, you misunderstand. I mean killer of any remaining listeners.

I forgot when Proffitt is to show up at the station. Is he there already?

    1. Yes, Haskins doesn't have to repeat his own name every two minutes, his bungled audio work identifies him. Also noted that it was Democracy Now..... and then... and now, etc.

I also don't recall whether it was this week or next for the Proffitt visit. The Papal visit is quite another matter.

    2. The following can be heard in the archived audio of the Thursday 9 July PNB Special Meeting:

John Proffitt refers to financial reports from all units to be made to him the next day, 10 July.

At the end of the 9 July meeting archived audio one can hear an informal discussion as to Proffitt’s trip to New York. There is some confusion as to whether he is to arrive in New York Monday 13 July or Tuesday 14 July, but there is agreement that he is to return to California Thursday.

That is, so far as I know, all the relatively (emphasis on ‘relatively) firm information available at present.

Presently calendared at www.kpftx.org, a PNB Finance Committee Special Meeting is scheduled for tonight, Tuesday 14 July at 8:30p ET, which is to be streamed and archived.

The previously scheduled Thursday 16 July PNB Special Meeting, which was to have been streamed, has been cancelled.

There is still scheduled for Thursday 16 July a meeting of the PNB Strategic Planning Working Group, which will not be streamed.

There is scheduled for Friday 17 July a meeting of the PNB Personnel Committe, which is to be streamed and archived.

One or more of these may provide further information or further confusion, as per Pacifica Custom.

I see Frank LaFever has commenter on the blue board.
I suppose the rumor is just a rumor, but that might change after Proffitt gets to NYC and sees what is going on.
Of course firing Reimers will leave Proffitt with a big political headache, and the question of who to make the new GM.
White male ED, light male PD, will be hard to go for a non-Black GM in Pacifica's racially sensitive world.
Curious to see what Proffitt can do before he's kicked out or gives up in frustration.

    From Blue Board:
    > Rumor has it that Proffitt fired Reimers this weekend. That
    > would certainly be justified by this accounting disaster and
    > many other reasons, but anybody have any verification of it?

Why would he be meeting with him this afternoon if he was fired last weekend?

    Oh.

To help him clean out his desk?

    mmm...

    I dunno

None of this is beyond imagining or beyond precedent of a sort.

    1. LeFever is a bad joke. He appears to need attention so desperately that he cannot bypass any opportunity to become a member of some WBAI board or committee. I have a strong feeling that his occasional expenditures in behalf of WBAI (flyers, an ad, a table, etc.) is tantamount to paying reparations for having played a major role in the selection and hiring of Berthold Reimers, and for his efforts to help Mitchel in the Reimers coverups.

I just hope Murillo isn't selected as Reimers' replacement. That person needs to be a total stranger, one who can divorce his decisions from any personal acquaintanceship with the opportunistic bozos currently occupying selfie radio.

If help were needed to clean out Reimers' desk, the line would form on the right, the left, and in the middle.

    2. To wish Murillo on WBAI in any commanding position is to wish the station a speedier demise.

Chef Ramsay is good at uncovering and eliminating roaches, so....maybe...

  6. Does it matter who is manager now. Especially if they come from the same old crowd. I'd say WBAI 'deserves' Bernard White, and his crowd. I would enjoy such an ugly though grand comedy.
