2014 Fall Drive: Schedules for weeks 2 & 3

Sorry for the fine print, I gave it a considerable size boost, but it's still barely readable (your computer or tablet should be able to bring it up some more. That said, I have given it a quick look and find nothing to write home about. There is a sprinkling of "TBA" slots, Kathy D's sick mausoleum is still open for whatever, etc.

  1. Today makes for three consecutive episodes of Forlano's show canceled. Considering a dead man (Robert Knight) earned more many in less time AND after midnight, you have to wonder if there is something to this.

  2. Should be "earned more money," oops...

  3. I don't know who actually makes these daily tally reports, but they often seem to be at odds with the impressions given over the air. Think about it... WBAI has been handled in a very sloppy way, as we know, so why should we think that these people momentarily develop efficiency when they generate these dailies?

    1. I read or heard somewhere that the tallies are the results given to WBAI from the call center. I don't know if it's true or not.

  4. I assume that the Call Center notes every pledge on a form and that this information is passed on to the station's "management." What they do with it is quite another matter. Their history of secrecy and false optimism is the stuff my suspicions are made of.

    Everything's coming up plastic roses.

  5. Infomercial in place of Mike Sargent. I guess we know where this beg-a-thon is going. Reimers must have thrown in the towel.

    1. Only a week into the marathon and they are already $60,634 short of the announced expectations. No high praise for them! It is deja vu all over again and even the plastic roses are melting into an appropriately red glob.

  6. What a fun dinner I had. I sat down at my table about 6:50 PM and flipped on the radio to hear Forlano taking a call from a self-identified 61 year old black woman named Dibola (insert Ebola joke here). Well... Dibola ripped Forlano a new one, as they say. You see, white women owe everything they have to black women, who pushed for women's rights (guess she doesn't know about Margaret Sanger, etc.) AND sucked on black women's teats, etc. Forlano seemed to have no idea what to say. However, then came the zinger - Dibola said WBAI only cares about black people when it's time to raise money [sic]!

Anyway, this woman wouldn't shut up, even as Forlano actually didn't cut her off and tried to have a conversation with her, unsuccessfully. What ended it finally was the end of the show.

As much as I always hated people being cut off for their opinions, there are some people who need to be cut off because they don't show any comprehension as to how to hold a dialogue. Forlano obviously doesn't have the experience to know this.

    1. I caught the very end of that. I hope it is archived, but didn't I read somewhere that Forlano never makes it down there?

Dibola sounds like she should have her own show.

    2. No, Forlano's show isn't archived and no reason has been given for that situation. Another Reimers mystery?

Well, Dibola's opinions would fit in perfectly with the more radical staff members. Add to that her non-stop vocal abilities... Yeah, she'd fit in.

    3. In ancient times there were two carts in Master applicable to such situations if one cared to slam one in and hit the magic button:

      1) Machine gun fire.

      2) Snoring.

Then cross-fade segue into Something Anything Else :)

  7. Forgot to mention that Forano is doing a two hour show on Thursday, where she is having an unnamed Pacifica executive on during the 7-8PM hour. May be interesting.
