Ewport a-comin'!

BRACE YOURSELVES FOR
A TWO-HOUR EWPORT
FROM PAPA BERTHOLD

Reports are as rare as truth at WBAI, Ewports even more so.

Subject: Report to the listener

Dear all,
We will be having a ewport to the listener on Wednesday November 16 between 4 and 6 pm.
Thanks,
Berthold

UPDATE: Nov. 16, 2016 THE EWPORT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 30.

  1. What's he going to do with two hours. One hour of his rambling crap is more than enough, even on the rare occasion he does an ewport.

  2. I predict that if Trump takes it, we will see something like what happened in the 80s and Samori with Reagan for WBAI - an increase in donations just out of fear of the government. You could call Trump a saving grace for the station and, probably, Pacifica.

    1. I think some people will come back, as they did in the 80s. Also, The Remnants will cough up more dough when asked, as cultists do. As the line at the end of The Wild Bunch went, "It won't be like the old days, but it'll do."

  3. I may actually do some WBAI listening today because of how livid people like Null, Prescod, etc. should be.

    1. Yes, should be interesting. That morning show is 2 hours of Mimi live! And on Saturday morning, David Rothenberg can sell tickets to Canada. Null will push his survival kits even harder and Prescod will be hysterical.

    2. Prescod will probably take the prize, as she'll howl louder than one of her pledge drive extendomercials. As much as I dislike Trump, I have to admit to really getting a sadistic kick out of watching the lefties flipping out.

    3. I just spot-checked WBAI only to hear the so-called Hatian All-Stars promoting a September event.

    4. At this moment, many people would like time to go in reverse...

    8. Remember something. You don't become president by winning the election, but by winning the election AND taking the oath of office. There's still a couple of months left, and much dirt on Trump. Think he'll make it? Never know, but I think the press is going to have a field day. It could well be Pence saying "So help me god."

      SDL

      Delete
    9. True, but Pence is almost as bad—he won't curse or call people names, he won't grab little kitties, but he professes to be deeply religious. That alone send up a humongous flag.

  4. Eeeewwww is right. "Everyting is wonderful at WBAI becuzz my paychecks are still clearing thanks to lefties on West coast. Now some music"

  5. The WBAItes have been disappointing me today. I was hoping for more emotion and howling. Well, one thing the loonie lefties showed me was that they still haven't learned if you insult a group of people all day long, they will get tired of it and vote against you. Sorry, but their bigotry in always using the meaningless word "racism" or "white" has run its course. Dumb fuckers are now ramping up their stupidity. My grandmother used to say that you get more flies with honey than with vinegar...

    1. Your analogy is on point, SDL. The narrow-minded fools on WBAI's air seem to believe that only people "of color" are affected adversely by acts of injustice. It never occurs to them that racism—directed at anybody—is, or should be—painful to whites, as well. WBAI's little people—black, latino and white—constantly inject race into their conversation, and if a guest fails to do so, the "hosts" will add "especially people of color."

  6. 5:11 PM and Tony Bates is on pushing the S.O.B.s concert. Not a bad idea, actually, to push a fund raising event outside of the show which is the primary backer. Now let's see how Bates fucks it up...

Also, just looked at Emmanuel Goldstein's Twitter account, and he's livid about the election. OTH should be wild tonight.

  7. Listening to the Katie Halper show discussing the election - it's the first intelligent thing (other than the Free Time show) I've heard on the station in a long time. Rationale self-criticism of liberal hypocrisies and delusions. Very refreshing.

  8. OTH sounds like a group therapy session tonight. They should all do a group hug...

  11. I think TPCS, especially on PRN, has improved recently. The show feels tighter and faster paced. I like to think I contributed to that with a tweet i sent them saying, "Enough with the Windows 10 already," or something similar.

Also, I had a good conversation with them on their PRN show tonight.

    4. you usually don't have to identify yourself. Even if it is asked, there are only 10,000 Chris's in NYC. If he asks you if you are THEE Chris, you answer, "My mother thought so, but all mother's think their kids are special"and then ask your question.

    5. Thanks, we'll see. It would say a lot if they ID'ed me and observed their unwritten selective free speech rule.:)

    6. Would be more amazing if they actually let you talk. Reggie should be manning the phones at the time, so a better chance of getting through, I think than if Hay-tie Haskins were.

See what happens, I may call in, too.

  13. A repeat caller named "Charlie" (apparently non-black) called into Michael G Haskins show at approximately 6:35 AM telling Michael the station is in the habit of extolling "black nationalism" and demonizing" white men in the process. Haskins got very defensive with what I considered a very valid argument from the caller. Based on Haskins own personal interracial private life, why would he have an issue with the caller's question?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Haskins has difficulty handling reality--this was a good demonstration of that. I had already planned to post it, along with other "moments".

    1. That's sad news, he was a favorite of mine.

No, he did not come to WBAI in my time there—I got to know him a bit when I was producing records at Columbia. As I recall, he was ripped off by his manager.

      Did you like his work?

    2. Yes, I did. That's why I did the R.I.P. here and one on my Twitter account. Just thought I should mention it.

    1. I don't like Trump at all, but I love seeing the leftie, hypocritical, Pavlovian dogs suffering as they are, especially the pampered, soft assed, bourgeois college kiddies getting their first real life lesson. They always cry for democracy. Well, they got it.

    2. There's an old joke about a guy who can't understand why his candidate lost. Everyone he knew voted for his candidate. Exactly. I'm not even mad at Trump. I'm mad at Obama and Clinton. If a Democrat can't win Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, they have bigger problems than Donald Trump.

    3. Speaking of... I just read this article and simply can not believe how coddled these little shits are. Wait until the day they don't get what they want for Christmas! They'll be jumping off roofs or in front of trains.

Let's pipe in some WBAI so they can feel better and self-hate.

Its college. You're supposed to be meeting different types of people and exchanging ideas. See that man over there, he is what we call a Republican. He believes in limited government. Yes I know he is a bourgeois sell out. Just talk to him. No he's not privileged. Your family is richer than his family. Just talk to him.

    1. Exactly my point. Someone on Twitter asked if there was also a wet nurse?

Imagine if they had a Libertarian pointed out to them? "That person over there believes in fiscal conservatism, but also in civil rights." that would confuse them completely.

So much for college challenging kids.
