I heard someone ask Agarwal at a meeting if he thought the stations were holding back money for National in order to cover their own expenses. That would explain the endless delays with the audit. Once it became clear CPB money was not an option, they would have less incentive to pay their share. Its insane of course. Does that make sense to you Chris?
Little that is done by Pacifica makes sense. From what I understand, the absence of CPS money is due to a failure on the part of Pacifica to follow through on the application. During the last fundraising marathon, Tony Bates (flown in from California to pitch) suggested that the missing CPS grant was due to a government conspiracy! That's the sort of nonsense and outright distortion of facts Pacifica now routinely broadcasts.
That's their legal insurance if they get sued? If so, sounds like a great way to go bankrupt quickly.
