The Coupsters who can't: An open letter
The following open letter is being distributed with a request to...
Funny stuff, when you think about it. All this LSB drama because one faction wants a psychopathic tub of space lard on the LSB, rightly or wrongly. Davis should be denied a position on the LSB due to mental incompetence.
More JUC nonsense. They're the first ones to insist on rules when its something they want but when the rules work against them, they ignore it. They place Vajra on the board who got four votes in the staff election in 2012 in the middle of counting ballots for 2015 and then claim she has a one year term. They top it off by instigating a physical altercation and all SDL has to say is he thinks its funny. I'm glad he's amused but I think the joke is getting pretty old.
I believe the original intent was to have her develop fundraising ideas—remember the art auction? However, Reimers appears to have changed her unwritten job description to that of a secretary. She probably wrote a letter, or two. Her brother, who died last week, was the webmaster. He did improve the design, but the information it held was often wrong and never really useful.
It seems that nothing Berthold Reimers touched didn't turn to dust.
I rarely do that, but I now see where it could make it difficult for the visually impaired. However, I usually make the image large, which means that clicking on it makes it more readable.
I don't think the blur problem occurs when I do it that way. If you could cite a specific example, please tell me about it so that I can find a way to fix it. Thanks.
HAHAHA! I'm in a thing now on Twitter about this that is hysterical, especially since one of the people in the studio is tweeting with us, "No one in the studio can believe it."
An inexcusable misappropriation of listener-supporter funds. Reimers is such a dumb clod that it wouldn't surprise me if he dis-allowed the playing of music on shows that are music based. An utterly clueless amateur who earns not a penny of his $110,000.00 salary. Having the phone and equipment working is infinitely more important than having and paying for such deadweight as Berthold Reimers.
Of course, his incompetence serves well the people who could have the power to fire him. They want to sell WBAI and, although it is probably simply a byproduct of his imbecilic mindset, Reimers has contributed mightily to its obsoescence.
I heard that! Could be a blessing in disguise if it means that all call-in shows have to be dumped. That would leave Radio Unlistenable as the only callable program and Bob Fass as the sole contact—think of it.
Appropos fossils, the weekly discussion of Microsoft's chronic flaws is lumbering along now, I really don't want to be reminded of the BAUG (Big Apple User Group). There is good reason for not devoting a show to Apple computers... the guys on this treadmill would have little or nothing to offer in the way of work-arounds.
Uhhh... Radio Unlistenable... errmm.. on six... uhhh... stations... with... rrrmmmm... the only... uhmmm... phone lines... ummmm... errrr... for my six listeners... errr...
In other words, a two-way ramble. I think that might be termed a babble. It's a shame that Bob got so caught up in his success that he stopped moving ahead.
These guys are gangsters. What is Cerene going to actually gain by her willful destruction of WBAI?

ReplyDeleteI think the factions should beat the hell out of each other with 9" dildos and the winning side rules the ruins.

I don't know about that, but words have certainly not worked well for them.

OK, thank you.
DeleteNow the question is why hire and salary one person to think up fundraising ideas instead of asking station staff and listeners for ideas.
I suggest:
An annual Pete Seeger memorial karaoke contest.
A Halloween party with a best costume contest (I can't wait to see who has the best Mumia costume!).
Based on Where's Waldo?, market Where's Reimers? books, games and puzzles. That would be a never ending search of fun for all.
A weekly WBAI farmer's market, where WBAI gets 5% of all sales.
An annual outing to Chuck E. Cheese for the kiddies who make up the WBAI LSB.

Still putting walls of text in images? Bad practice, Chris.

My work with poor people tells me that they spend their money on what they want and cry poverty for what they need. These members have been suckered.

Still no on-air phone lines at WBAI! Just listen to OTH getting so aggravated over it. Hey, Emmanuel Goldstein, still want to kiss Reimers' ass?
ReplyDeleteI wonder what Joe King will say on TPCS...

Hank Kee, "We were told that the phone lines are out indefinitely."
ReplyDeleteThey've only had the on-air phone lines for a few months! I'm dying of laughter here!

Six listeners? Aren't you exaggerating?
DeleteYou may be right, as most of those burned out druggies that call Fass sound more like they are rambling than actually listening.

DeleteThe WBAI Webmaster, Alan Katz has died - was told the WBAI web site will go down for repairs soon
ReplyDeleteSo... wbai.org shall go the way of the on-air phone lines...
DeleteMakes you wonder when the running water will be shut off.
