Berthold..late last evening while getting a fresh juice a man approached me to tell me that he had been at the Plant Codes premier and was a long time listener. He then mentioned that he has been waiting for a premium for more than a year….that he has either received premiums very late or not at all and that the only reason he pledged this spring drive was because I gave my personal promise that all of the funds from the premier would go to the purchase of premiums. I assured him that the manager was in the process of making final arrangements for all spring premiums to be delivered. He reiterated his enjoyment at the premier and lecture. I asked him his occupation . He said he was a lawyer. I thanked him for his continued support to WBAI. Berthold please honor your word and on Monday wire the money for the premiums. I hope you realize that one of the main reasons the station has lost so many supporters is due to not getting the listeners their premiums in a timely manner or not getting them at all. Also everyone tells us that no one responds to their phone calls or e mails. This time I gave my word. You gave me your word. We must keep our words. Just last week I had a tragic death very close to me . I flew out of town to grieve and handle all arrangements. I told Scott…my in house council …to let you know I would not be able to attend the premier. He told me that the audience would be very upset and disappointed and that I should fly back for the premier then return the next day. I did the best I could and let no one know that I am in a grieving period. I also spent thousands out of my own pocket for the two free films and forgave my normal lecture fee…all for the station. Also do you realize that during the past three years that I have paid for more than 50% of the premiums…saving you tens of thousands. I hope you will do the right thing and pay for these premiums. Please honor your word. Thank you.

Reading this report confirms the wisdom of demanding Berthold Reimers' ouster. It also makes it easier to understand why the medical insurance company dumped him—the man is not just a total nitwit, he is obviously a crooked one and I am sure that he has all the needed qualifications for serving time behind bars... not to mention, a hefty fine—reparation.

DeleteThere are several theories bandied about regarding the reason for Berthold Reimers' seemingly unlimited tenure. Lacking any solid evidence, it remains speculation. The man is incredibly inept, he has been in the manager's position for several years without making any positive decision that I can think of. If YOU know the answer, I think you ought to share it or tell Kim why you can't.

I remember requesting the contract with the ESRT. Martin provided a partial contract- approximately 6 pages. One sentence referred to food not being sold.
Martin is a sociopath. He lies. The reason he lies is because he desires to prove that he can lie without facing any penalty.
When Andrea Katz brother was hired, he was not hired with the last name of Katz. And Martin was dancing around when I questioned if Andrea Katz's brother were hired.
While the readers of your blog speak unfavorably of the JUC, no one criticizes Steve Brown for permitting the rapid decline of WBAI.
As for Jim Dingeman, Dingeman blames me for the $20,000 in rent, which WBAI paid to CUNY. Dingeman, like many individuals at WBAI, believes that WBAI should not be held to a contract. WBAI currently owes a minimum of $30,000 to CUNY.

When they began airing that nonsense to raise money, we were told that there is evidence of African presence in the U.S. prior to Columbus' arrival. Now, suddenly, they were here thousands of years earlier, building magnificent cities, pyramids and byways—modern societies that were centuries ahead of the white man's.
Kathy, who has been going farther and farther out on her imaginary limb, claims that the Great Wall of China was excavated, not built—well, this is the same scam couple (Bates and Davis) who tried to sell very ill listeners distilled tap water ("double helix") as a "cure" for whatever ailed them.
They have found a replacement for the very dead John Henrik Clark and the "Dr. Ben" con artist. This one is still alive and making up outrageous, self-serving stories that only WBAI's greedy, morally bankrupt snake oil sellers have the temerity to give credence. When they say, "only on WBAI", they are right, but not for the implied reasons: no other station in NYC has as little regard for its listeners.
Bill Crosier needs to clean up this infestation—without delay.
It just shows you that their target market is uneducated black nationalists who don't care about any historical truth, archeology, etc.

My childhood/family and a certain amount of intelligence render me as immune to racism as possible, but I can imagine what effect WBAI's now official bigotry may be having on the remnant listenership. I know for a fact that it is embarrassing to blacks and whites alike. Think of the opportunity these irresponsible people have been handed to dispel real myths and paint a correct picture. So much to be proud of and yet the WBAI spokespeople do nothing but attempt to widen the gap between the races.

They are really trying to tell the ESB they should get off on the cheap because they are so important, even though the station hasn't meant shit in many years.

Chris, I can't be my usual snidely humorous self here. I have been listening to this Africans discovered the universe pack and am truly appalled by how low WBAI and Pacifica have sunk to allow these two unscrupulous pieces of trash, Tony Bates and Kathy Davis, to lie and distort history.
ReplyDeleteI thought the first part with Harry Hubbard was bad, but as the second hour progresses with this David Imhotep(?) lunatic rolling along, it just gets into total fantasy land. It actually is making me angry like the group of kids and their "teacher" I once saw at the Museum of Natural History. The "teacher" was telling the poor kids how all this stuff was only about six thousand years old.
What I noticed that others probably won't is when Bates said history needs to be revised. That's the exact same thing that the Holocaust deniers say. That's why they are called "revisionists" or "historical revisionists.
It is particularly odious that Bates and Davis should be ripping-off their own people with garbage lies like this, especially when these two creeps know most of their listeners are elderly and, often, ill, with little money to their names.
One can laugh at double helix water, Zappers, etc., but this propaganda is being promoted as history, without any opposing views or debate, to an audience of simpletons, which will allow The Remnants to form hate based opinions on it.
