Neer-do-well and the sunrise drama queen...

It is Monday, July 10, 2017 and WBAI's fate, pushed to the brink by Berthold Reimers and his coterie of chumps, rests in the mighty hands of King Kong. As the moment of truth approaches, the dysfunctional Berthold Reimers emerges to pay a rare visit to the make-believe "studio". Here, in case you missed it, is this meeting of the mindless.

In an act of compassion, the following audio clip does not contain the entire grueling two hours of Haskins' Monday morning mess, but you will hear the grim essence of Reimers' visit. Note the outrageous, inexcusable poor quality of the audio and bear in mind that Haskins is WBAI's "chief engineer".

  1. That motion must really have them scared, which means they think there is a good chance it will be granted.

  2. Well played Berthold. Pretend to be accessible by going on the air in the morning knowing only a few people will bother trying to call in on the one line that is working.
Now then back to QuickBooks. Let's see. If we can get $15,000 a day and hold back on central services, we should be in surplus. Oh wait. We have to pay Yellow Magnet. Better make that $16,000 a day.

  3. I encourage everyone to write letters to the ESB and tell them to squeeze WBAI and Pacifica hard and don't give them any relief. Write them and tell them that Berthold is a crook and has been keeping two set of books, according to Mario Murillo and Andrew Phillips. Before any "deal" is reaching, Berthold MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY. He is a CROOK!

  4. Doug Henwood giving us more black history . Wow , the fascination with race based programming]
just never ends here . It's just beyond pathetic.

    1. I hope Henwood is at least truthful. Next week at this time WBAI's current interruption of its begging cycle will be over and the station will resume its normal scam-a-thon. Tony Bates is probably chomping at the bit with his perpetuation of the Garvey-Clarke-"dr. Ben" African fantasies.

    2. I did like the guy on the audio clip who said the premiums were getting monotonous, or something like that.

    3. On the money, as it were, and how about the Null critique? That smooth operator opened WBAI's door to all these healing scams.

Assuming that the high-priced "Yellow Magnets" were actually contracted, we should soon know whether they attract or repel. Of course, we will only have Reimers' figures to go by, and they are notoriously products of his little mind.

  5. Now that mimi is on revisiting the newark riots, for about the 18th time today , can anybody
imagine all the 15 year olds tweeting all their friends telling them to tune in to bai?
yeah , i didn't think so . or anybody calling anybody to tune in , for that matter.

  6. The current state of WBAI and Pacifica seemed even sadder this morning when I listened to an NPR piece about the 50th anniversary of the Newark riots. That program included a clip from WBAI's coverage of the event. Would that WBAI could rise to that level again!

  7. Chris--Were you the station manager during that time?

  8. Every time I hear one of the WBAItes going on about the ESB situation, I have to laugh. When and where is that press conference supposed to be?

    1. I think they said it would take place on Thursday, preceded by supporters marching to City Hall. That, they think, will get WBAI on the evening news.

      Obviously a major event. :)

    1. Kind of related? The Trump Jr. email hype continues. Allegedly, a Russian lawyer wanted to contact him. She said she had "incriminating evidence" on Hillary. Today on DN, Amy Goodman does 1/3rd of her program on this. But not once could she be bothered to actually mention the lawyer's name. I mean, it IS a key fact in this case. But, who the hell cares. You know how these "foreign" names are. How many millions a year does she make?

  10. Don't we owe money to Amy Goodman? I haven't heard much about that recently. I also recall her premiums. That rich Central American fair trade coffee and dinner with Amy herself if you donate enough money.

    1. Yes. Pacifica owes over $1 million. Why doesn't she call in this debt? She sees it as leverage. Without me and DN (the lynchpin of Pacifica?), they're nothing. On the other hand, if she loses her connection with Pacifica, who else will give her the time of day? Nobody.

    2. The ESB alone is owed over $2,000,000.00 ... but wait! There's more... and only Berthold himself knows the full extent of the debt.

They say today's press conference will be aired at six. It is being edited by Linda Perry... let's hope she keeps it honest.

    1. I don't share that impression. I think Prairie's show is very good.

  12. your'e right , it is very good . So why destroy it by talking about the same drek that every other
racist host on bai talks about ( mostly black) with some exception .
To me , even if everything they say is the absolute truth (we all know it's not) but let's assume it is , then the question becomes do you want to hear it everytime , you turn on the station .
I for one don't , And if i'm wrong , where is the listenership?
p.s . prescod talking about , you guessed it, SLAVERY.

  13. Prescod, haskins and pam , howard jordan, gary byrd, basir what's his face , ron daniels , gloria brown, mimi rosenberg, sally obrien , there's more , but you get the idea.
90 percent of these people's show are about race , mostly how their ancestors were slaves, they are oppressed and they need reparations . Then they will have on the goto racist hmm hmm, i mean the "race experts" to agree with every word they say ,and we all know who they are , herb boyd ,larry hamm, milton alamate, joy degrue, michele alexander , gerald horne, i'm leaving some out , but again i think you get the point . Just the fact that they have on people that are going to hang on every word they say , doesn't make for good radio , not to mention the racial slant on it.

    1. Your list is right on the money. Most of these people probably don't realize how counterproductive their nonsense is. We all know about slavery and the lingering atrocities, but bozos like Daniels, Haskins and corked up Mimi are out to promote themselves and keep air time that never was theirs. The audience is the victim, but, ultimately, these propagandists hurt themselves. That's Okay with me—they deserve it.

    2. No, it wasn't! Go to the WBAI Twitter page and scroll down for pics of the big press conference. HAHAHA! Oh, it's so pathetic, looking like a tiny group of homeless people waiting to get into a soup kitchen for lunch.

I bet I could get more people together for a fart sniffing contest.

  15. WBAI has an audio recording of the "event". The amount of applause makes it sound like there were about a dozen (or at most twenty) people in attendance.

    1. That dynamic duo, "The Blacks" has an applause generator, which they use to make themselves feel good—perhaps....?

  16. Looking at pictures online at WBAI's social media pages, look like maybe 60 people including leaders, programmers, media, malcontents, and the dredges of Pacifica NY.

  17. All the press conference did was show how little support WBAI has, considering the majority of the people attending seemed to be station staff.
