Here is an interesting, useful piece posted to the WBAI LSB-Public list by N. Marty Jameson, a member of the station's Finance Committee. I hope it is discussed and possibly acted upon at the next meeting of this committee, which will take place tonight, June 8, at 7:00, at 388 Atlantic Ave., Brooklyn. It is open to the public.
Clearly WBAI/Pacifica has presented sharp warning signs with respect to financial matters for many, many years.
ReplyDeleteThose sharp warning signs continue at the present time.

Mario Murillo gave a recent speech in which he said Berthold Reimers was keeping two set of books. Mario said he was shocked at what he saw first hand.
ReplyDeleteCan you give details—time, place?
DeleteApril 13, Hofstra University
DeleteAdd to Jameson's food for thought that Reimers failed to show up for the meeting when he said he would present more information about Yellow Magnet and could not be reached.
ReplyDeleteHe was in all likelihood busy cooking the results of his last fundraising scam. Something untoward (to put it gently) is definitely going on.

ReplyDeleteThe way Reimers seems to operate I find it hard to believe he's keeping two sets of books.
Because he doesn't seem capable of keeping even one set of books!
I suspect his 'bookkeeping" is a bunch of sticky notes on his desk.
A reasonable assumption, JAL. The real question is how someone so inept and unprincipled has managed to spend years holding a position for which he is so obviously exceedingly unqualified.
DeleteAnd collect $100,000 or MORE for nothing!
He's the Million Dollar Manager!
ReplyDeleteYes, and he has been operating on empty since they made the mistake of hiring him for a position that he does not come near to qualifying for. A few years back, then Pacifica ED did the right thing and fired him. That order was reversed by a very corrupt Pacifica Board.
