nears extinction. Your comments are welcomed and will not be censored.
I just got to listening to the candidate nonsense that was on last Thursday (9/1/16 and, sure enough, Cerene Roberts was permitted into the station again.
Better idea. Let all the morons in,tell them to leave their egos at the door and light a fire. Those egos would block the exit, allowing for a new Cocoanut Grove.
I heard the Spanish program tonight I just couldn't believe it the ineptitude is mind-boggling, Reimers seems determined to drive the station into the ground ais quickly as possible.
You just know everyone who tuned in for Bochan tuned out after wondering what station they had on. Someone needs to tell the WBAI dummy management that their BLM listeners don't speak Spanish, often let alone English.
Anyway, hope you're on the mend if not healed up Chris.
, As usual no announcement for May biggest one right into Spanish I don't even think it was a station break.
Thank you I am definitely on the mend, today I actually walked around, did some house cleaning, used my desktop Mac, stuff like that, which I haven't been able to do in a long time. the good thing is that I lost 20 pounds!
I don't believe it. Geoff Brady is on now and... and... doing a good show with a good guest about gender stereotypes and skewed statistics. The only other time I liked a show of his was over a year ago with the guest talking about Scientology. That was also his last show for a while because he was cancelled after that.
I wouldn't miss Peter Bochan, but he did a 100th Birthday celebration of Frank Sinatra last year that was excellent. I wish he or somebody would repeat it.
Geoff Brady doing a serious show? I'd have trouble buying into it - I'd be waiting for his guest to reveal that gender stereotypes are due to some of us being descended from space aliens. My favorite shows were when he discussed "Orgone energy", "Joe cells" and other perpetual motion machines, or when he had on the engineer who believes the WTC on 9/11 was taken down by a disintegrating ray...
Believe it or not. Brady's guest was a lady who feels statistics regarding women in our society are skewed to make them feel more discriminated against than they really are. Surprisingly non-PC for WBAI. I wonder if he'll be fired again, like he was when he did the Scientology show.
Make no mistake, Brady's a crackpot. However, if someone does a good show, I will give credit where it's due.
I love it when Brady talks about humanoid aliens stealing people's auras. I also rather liked the guy who revealed that there was no real lunar landing—the old moon was, in fact, a hologram.
Wasn't it an enterprising scam lady named "Doctor" Woods who came up with the disintegrating ray? I guess Trump might have brought that up if he hadn't been so mesmerized by the Israeli victory dance that took place in New Jersey. There is a very thin line separating Brady's fantasies from those of Kathy Davis, Tony Bates, Haskins and the rest of these bozos.
BTW, I have several truly intelligent black friends and acquaintances who are neither "Doctors nor Professors." If the WBAI "studio" had real walls, they could be covered with diplomas from Trump U.
Brady is ultimately just an Art Bell & George Noory wannabe. All the metaphysical nonsense may be fun, but it is really just a security blanket against dealing with reality.
I always wonder how many of these loons really believe the crap and how many are just charlatans making money of it.
OK, back to listening to Hawkwind's Orgone Accumulator...
My guess is that they are both. in good measure. Bates and Daniels are pure charlatans, I suspect; Kathy is a half-and-half (with room for a pony); Haskins is a plain old dummy... and so it goes.
Mary Houston, the wannabe Gary Null, who told us brewer's yeast solved all our health problems and eating your own finger nails was healthy because they came from your body.
There were AIDS activists interviewed by Bob Lederer in the mid 1980s who advocated drinking your own urine for treatment of HIV/AIDS. "Urine Therapy". That brings the phrase, "Eat S__t" to another level.
Bates has been brought back as interim program director for his fundraising skills. Does this make sense to bring back a 'charlatan' or is something else going on?
Berthold Reimers has no conscience, nor does he care what WBAI broadcasts, as long as it brings in enough money to stay on the air. He has on more than one occasion stated that money is all he cares about—his current, clueless dabble in programming demonstrates a disrespect for the shrinking listenership that he blames on anything from hurricane Sandy to—most recently—Ronald Reagan.
Bates is the perfect partner in crime—they have much in common... none of it good.
Didn't really get a chance to chime in on the report to the listener nonsense last week . But did i hear reimers praising ron daniels about offering solutions , instead of just presenting problems? And the solution was to buy black. Wow Just being on board with ron daniels , speaks volumes As long as reimers is there ,there is no hope!
TPCS answered my recent question. The PRN and WBAI TPCS shows are different ones. Unfortunately, I missed tonight's episode on PRN, if it has debuted yet. Anyone have a recording? I don't know if TPCS will put the PRN show in their archives.
OK, so last night and tonight no 10:00 PM Spanish shows? I guess they only have Monday booked right now for the experiment in failure.
Well, you have to laugh at Dreadful Scott Keyes getting shifted to the overnight. Considering he'll be the only one at the sound closet, maybe it's a good opportunity to help himself to some items.
I listened to the PC show this evening and came to the conclusion that they really should've let it go whhile they had tthe opportunity or at least made a radical change in it. It is a very boring show with a very biased host who is hopelessly stuck in the past.
They really need to broaden their scope and get some fresh voices in there. The commentary on blocking texting on the road was silly and the host's critique of Apple was somewhat valid but too subjective to be taken seriously.
linda perry's "news"? yeah , if you want to hear the latest updates on the black killings by cops. I know it's hard to find any other news in a city like new york . geez
Linda no longer delivers news, she just focuses on one or two local incidents (not always local) that fits into Haskins' racist agenda. She is capable of doing it right, even with limited resources, but that does not befit the racist propaganda machine WBAI has become.
Linda Perry was always a leftist, like her husband Richard Barr. I am confident that this PC agenda of white cop on "youth of color" is right up her alley. She is not just going along reluctantly.
I can believe that Linda is a Leftist, but I was in touch with her a year or so ago and my impression was that she is not as limited in her focus as her capsule news spots indicate. I do recall her saying something that would indicate that Haskins was giving directions and she agreed with me that he is an embarrassment.
Linda abruptly "unfriended" me on FaceBook when I posted a discomfiting truth about Steve Post. I never had that happen before, or since. Haskins takes himself more seriously than his mental capacity warrants, and he grows more embarrassing each time he goes off on his "this is OUR station" tangent and tries to convince himself that he is making some sort of a sacrifice. Pathetic.

So about 7:15 last evening I tuned in to hear OTH and another program was on - figured WBAI was running some special and changed the channel. After 9:00 I happened on the station, heard TPCRS and remembered the schedule change.
Checking OTH on the archive makes me wonder if Reimers is feeling desperate. He is actually letting the OTH crew help him with the Verizon phone bill ??!!! Too bad he didn't do it $20,000 ago. Of course we don't know if OTH has actually been given access to the paperwork...
TPCRS was definitely low key (or should I say Kee) last night but they had to do two shows, and frankly they might not feel like committing much time to prepare a show when they don't know when and if it will air. It's still a worthwhile show that I've certainly benefited from (I probably would not be running a Linux system were it not for them). Just their news roundup is worth catching as I don't have time to keep up on my own. An improved, perhaps even expanded version would be great but let's face it, if TPCRS goes it will be replaced with useless agenda driven drivel.
I looked on the PRN site to see if TPCRS was in their archives but don't see it. Frankly Null's mess of a site makes WBAI's look good. It happens WBAI's archive (when working) is one of the best out there. Simple, and the programs are put up immediately after airing.
No announcements, no rhyme or reason—Reimers appears to have his own dartboard system. To hell with the listener, just throw those darts and see where they land. Michio in the dead hours of the morning?
As for WBAI's site, the archive is kept fairly well, but the rest (schedule, program listing, newsletter) is usually out-dated, misleading or just plain useless.
By the way, the PRN TPCS was far more lively, conversational and faster moving than the WBAI show. I have a feeling that the 6:00 PM PRN show is going to tire out Hank and Joe for the 9:00 PM WBAI show.
They're like watching water draining in a sink. they wouldn't be in as deep a mess if they got their audits done for CPB money.

10:13 PM and Spanish crap on WBAI instead of Peter Bochan. Can you say "bye bye" to more listeners? These dummies never learn.
