WBAI's very own studio... at last!

In a public post aimed at WBAI's "GM", Berthold Reimers, R. Paul Martin had this reminder, and a question:

"Berthold, you told the LSB at the March 11, meeting that CCNY 'Strongly,
strongly,' wanted WBAI to leave the CCNY studios by March 31. Please tell us what's happening with that."

As the day winds down, R. Paul adds: "Management hasn't even broached the issue with the on-air Staff."

Nothing has happened, so there may well be truth in the inside rumor that popped up on the BlueBoard this morning:

"No move until May. It was a ruse to get Pacifica to lift the embargo on checks over a certain amount. Yep it is as nuts as that - let's all yell fire."

  1. Oh, what a beautiful new studio! it has a sign and wooden crates so guests have something to sit on. It even has wheels, so it's mobile for when you need to do remotes from some demonstration or other. A broom? Now, Chris, how thoughtful of them to even look out for the janitor...

Sure Glo? Is that Nulls new powder drink?

    1. I am told it was designed by an often overlooked EU architect of the Silas Marner School.

Null's new powder is the talc of the town.

    1. Catch Kathy one night after her "Dance of the Seventy Veils," I am told that she is particularly channeling-ready at such times.

  3. It has hit me in the past few minutes just how crazy Kathy Davis is. She has absolutely no touch with reality to speak of. She lives in a self-created, insular world that she must use as a massive defense mechanism. I've heard lots of New Age crazies in my day, but she is at the extreme end.

Oh, well, while I am a non-theist, I did have some fun with a Satanic clique I hung with for a while in my youth (fun rituals, pretty girls and good kinky sex).

Oops... Did I say non-theist? Did you turn my pot off? Will you berate me for five minutes now?

    1. Kathy speaks with such clarity and Paulette knows exactly what she is talking about. I loved the part where a very pooped Kathy had to take a seat, looked up and, WOW! There, practically begging to be taken home was a book that may have been written by a Jewish carpenter millennia ago. Then, when it turns out that a sadly confused WBAI listener stumbled upon and bought the very same book today, I almost fell off my chair.

Actually, I would have fallen, but a homeless angel appeared and caught me!

Kathy likes being over the edge, she says, but what edge is she talking about? Dread Scott's cutting edge? Maugham's razor's edge? The edge of..... oh, never mind...she is getting ready to make her transition, so the morning is dead.

It didn't sound like they had a big crowd at Knight's party... what within being the love child of MLK, etc... the world is topsy turvy, SDL.

    2. Notice her favorite words are "higher" and "transition"? It probably has some sort of symbolic meaning. The thing with Davis is that not only does she seem to really believe it all, I get the impression that she hasn't really shown us all her intergalactic/interdimensional nonsense yet.

The Knight thing sounds like a few friends who overestimated his "legend." They'll do another shindig down the road, but even fewer will show up. The people they are pandering to don't really remember people for long, unless there is a profit to be made.

I wonder how many showed up for Post loses Earth post the other day. Sounds like they may have done better there and had a better cross section of personalities relevant to Post's career.

Now Freund is on. Not to be morbid, but when he transitions, I bet there will be one hell of a load of relevant people for the send off.

  5. Anyone know whatever became of "The Immigrant" Dan Behrman of mainly WFMU fame, although he had a short time on WBAI in the 1980s?
