As we ho and hum...

A frivolous, admittedly low priority atmospheric glimpse, this exchange typifies feelings that prevail as WBAI and Paifica sink to new depths. This is here because we are experiencing little news as we wait for the California AG’s decision and WBAI’s next physical move.

  1. I forgot to mention that boasting about 150 listeners when you're on six radio stations, one of which is 50,000 watts in the New York market, which is considered the number one radio market in the USA, is pretty pathetic. I'll bet you anything WFMU, WFUV, WKCR or even WFDU have far more listeners at the same time. Do I need to mention WNYC FM or AM?

150 listeners and Fass is lucky if he makes $30 during a program when in beg-a-thon mode? Laughable.

Anyway, good to know Propp considers me worth all the trouble he went through to show his jumbled mind to the public.

Fass should stand up for himself, as he's a grown man. I promise to be civil.

Talk about living in the past...

    1. Apropos the 150 steady streamers, I understand that the total is accumulative. Once you connect to the signal, you count until the end of the show, even if you sign off a half minute later.

    2. I think Bob Fass should be given Paul Gorman's old slot- Sat.10 a.m.to 12 noon. See if he can make anything of it. If not, harpoon Moby Dick. Give On The Count the graveyard Thurs-Fri night 12-3 a.m. If they don't like it, let them riot.

    3. Fass did do a Saturday afternoon slot at one point in the early 80s. It was between Gorman and Waldman some time.

On The Count at night would be amusing. I bet they wouldn't get a single call about the prison industry at all. However, in Fass' slot, they would probably have more listeners and callers than Fass.

OK, resent my post to BB in a censored version. In fact, I put "[CENSORED]" in the part with your name, Chris. Good for a laugh.

    4. The only thing I like on On The Count is the theme song. "Where You At"?

  2. Looks like Fass' minions are coming at me. Vicious ones, I notice.

Update on Norway and FM broadcasting:

Looks like The Voice of Greece wins. A while back it was slated for shutting down under austerity, however, the workers refused to leave and, essentially, "occupied" the station and kept it going as, technically, a pirate radio station, since it was no longer legally sanctioned. Pretty interesting and three cheers for them, in my opinion.

  3. I think there's a need for "On The Count", or a program like it. In that sense, it's like a few other BAI programs. Unfortunately, it's like those programs in another way: The way it's being done, and the folks who do it, simply don't make good radio.
