There's a lot of Null on the air as zero hour approaches...

Last week's Report to the Listener by Pacifica iEC Summer Reese was, basically a bunch of dogs playing poker on black velvet—she painted the picture some wanted to see, but it bore no relationship to reality. We will have to wait and see what her game is. In the meantime, tuning in to 99.5 produces more tangible results...odds are in favor of the voice you hear belonging to Gary Null. As the station heads for the final lap, his merchandising enterprise has received a boost, courtesy of Pacifica. The infomercials are almost all recycled stuff from this and previous marathons, with secondary roles eagerly played by Michael Haskins and Christine Blosdale. Painful to the intelligent ear, these skits contrast what Lewis Hill had in mind when he founded Pacifica in 1949, but—the audience having effectively been dumbed down—they generate money.

It is, of course, only a matter of time before this audience, too, has had enough from these scam artists, so I don't share the flash euphorias one hears from some of the stagnant ones.

  2. Gary Null is not Diabolical, he is merely a highly successful entrepreneur, who has been at it for a very long time and who is a self-made man in the truest sense of the word, whatever the effectiveness of his merchandise or educational credentials. The problem is that both he and Amy Goodman have launched multi-million dollar media operations using the WBAI and its resources as their base, and Goodman for one, can do a lot by forgiving the debt owned to her. She supports the Jubilee - debt forgiveness from World Bank to the developing nations, why not she forgive the debt owned her. Amy Goodman's very own WBAI Jubilee!!!! She IS CONCERNED about WBAI's future, as she has said...

Both she and Null can bail BAI out, and instead they both choose to squeeze every penny fro BAI's loyal listeners, most of whom can't afford it. That reveals something about them both, I think.

  3. Too much recycled Null these days, even though the 7AM hour airs extremely important topics, its old. This mornings episode was produced before Obama was re-elected. C'mon BAI ! Reheating old shows and putting Michael G. at the mic to collect funds, geez, how much worse can it get?

    1. At the very least, contributing mightily to the deterioration. Compounding the blight his own presence represents is the remolding and disfiguration brought on by the parade of quacks who were invited to follow him with their own scams. Whether or not some of his concoctions work, Null is a slick con artist.
